Chrome 141 Update — Rollout Plan and FAQ
Table of Contents
Overview
We’re making Chrome 141 available to all Ghost Inspector users with a staged, controlled rollout.
ℹ️ Please note: Chrome 141 is now available. We recommend switching to the new version soon to take advantage of improvements.
During this transition, both Chrome 114 (current) and Chrome 141 (new) will be available.
On October 13, 2025, all “Latest Chrome Version” settings will automatically point to Chrome 141.
On October 20, 2025, we plan to fully decommission Chrome 114, assuming no major issues occur during the transition.
Key changes
- The “Latest Chrome Version” setting is still locked to Chrome 114 until October 13, 2025.
- You can manually select Chrome 141 for your tests and suites.
- Organization administrators can also switch the default “Latest Chrome Version” in organization settings (114 or 141).
- Baselines automatically refresh when switching between browser versions.
- This allows you to safely test, validate, and (if needed) roll back to the previous version before the transition completes.
Firefox isn’t affected yet and is planned to follow about a week later.

Frequently Asked Questions
Why are we updating now?
We temporarily paused version updates while improving our browser infrastructure and test reliability. With those improvements complete, we’re now resuming updates starting with Chrome 141.
How can I switch to Chrome 141?
You can:
- Update individual tests or suites to use Chrome 141 explicitly, or
- Go to your organization settings and change the “Latest Chrome Version” from 114 to 141.
What happens to my baselines?
When you run tests in Chrome 141, a new baseline will be created automatically.
If you roll back to 114, your previous baselines will remain intact.
If you want to restore your old baselines after testing the new version, simply delete the executions that ran under Chrome 141.
What should I do if I encounter issues?
If something looks different or a test breaks in Chrome 141, you can:
- Try running your test again with Chrome 114.
- Revert your test or organization to Chrome 114.
If the issue persists, please contact our support (see the Need help section below) and include the URL of the failing test — this speeds up investigation.
When will Chrome 114 be removed?
Chrome 114 will be decommissioned on October 20, 2025, and all “Latest Chrome Version” settings will automatically point to Chrome 141.
If any major issues arise, we will temporarily allow rollbacks while working on fixes.
